DOCTOR VISITS AND TEST RESULTS

Recently,  a friend of  The Breakdown Café, has visited his doctor. During the medical visit, the doctor determined that he needed to take some lab test. The doctor was concerned about cancer. Weeks later, our friend still hasn't heard from his physician. He has left several messages, but still no answer. Here's the breakdown: We have a right to discuss all test results with our physician, even if the test results are negative. Some clinics have a policy that states if you don't hear from us that means the test is negative. I can tell you from both professional and personal experiences that this is not a good method. Test results that should have been reported to the patient were missed. Be diligent about your healthcare. Tell your practitioner that you would like to be contacted of all your test results, after all, you did pay for them.
