People can be so callous. Recently, an acquaintance of mine has been enduring some tough trials. As you can imagine, this person has been downhearted. Even though, this is not the nicest person I have ever met, I do have compassion. People have had some of the most unkind things to say about this person. It made me think about the scripture in Luke 6:45 "A good man brings good out of the good treasure of his heart, but a wicked man brings what is wicked out of his wicked treasure; for out of the heart's abundance his mouth speaks."When someone has been less than kind to you, how do you respond when you hear they have had some hard times? Do you laugh out loud or smile quietly to yourself? Either of these ways are wicked. Do you pray for them? Do you reach out to them? Either of these ways are good. Do you say 'Good. I'm glad that happened. They are so mean and wicked. Nobody likes them.' Do you say, 'I am going to pray for that person. I will ask that person if they need my help.' Remember, Jesus said, "Let the one without sin be the first to cast the stone." Did you notice that Jesus didn't even stoop down to pick up a stone? This is how we should be. Don't look for stones to cast! Be kind to people. In Galatians 5:22, 23 we are taught the fruits of the holy spirit. Anything that deviates from that is wicked. Be a real Christian today!
