EASY HOMEMADE BISCUITS
SOUTHERN BISCUITS
2 Cups Self-rising flour, sifted
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/4 cup cold butter
2/3 cups cold milk
Preheat oven to 400 F. Mix flour & baking powder in large mixing bowl. Cut cold butter into flour using pastry cutter or fork. The mixture should look like wet sand. Make a well in the flour mixture. ADD the cold milk. Mix with a fork until dough forms ball. Form into disk and wrap in plastic. Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Flour surface. Roll the dough 1/2 inch thick. Using 2 inch round cookie cutter, cut the dough into biscuits. Brush biscuits with melted butter. Place on baking sheet or in 8 inch cake pan with sides touching. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with butter and honey. YUM!
