Get your Vitamins!

We need to stay healthy. The best way to do that is to make sure we are getting all the nutrients we need to get through the day. Here's the breakdown:

-Vitamin C = cellular repair found abundantly in citrus fruits. Vitamin C is not stored in our bodies. Start your day with orange juice. Minute Maid Premium Orange Juice  taste like fresh squeezed oranges. But don't over do it on the juice. It has a lot of calories. We only need 1 glass per day. Tomatoes (red), red bell pepper, and Strawberries are also high in vitamin C.

-Vitamin A=good eye health. Found in carrots, sweet potatoes, & broccoli.

-Vitamin D=bone health. Found in dairy products.

-Vitamin K=helps with blood clotting. Found in dark greens. To get the highest Vit K, you will need to cook dark greens like Kale, collards, turnip greens, mustard greens, spinach, Swiss chard, broccoli.

-Vitamin B 12= brain and nervous system. Found in beef esp beef liver.Turkey has less than half of the amount found in beef. 

-Vitamin E= antioxidant and smooth muscle growth. Found in nuts, nut oils. The highest amount is found in wheat germ oil. Avocados also contain Vitamin E.

Of course, this is only a partial list of the vitamins we need. There are other vitamins that we need to maintain a healthy body. More blogs to come.
