Chocolate Chip Brownies

There is nothing better than smelling delicious brownies baking in the oven. They are warm and gooey.

Here's how I made them:

Brownie Ingredients:

1/4 Cup unsalted butter
1 Cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 C all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs

Optional ingredients:
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven 350 F. Butter 8x8x2 in brownie pan. Cover with cocoa powder. In microwave safe dish: melt butter & 1 cup chocolate chips. Tip: melt in 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals. It usually takes only 2 intervals (1 minute). Whisk together: sugar, flour, extract, baking powder, salt, and eggs. Add chocolate butter mixture.  Stir until just mixed. Stir in the nuts and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Pour brownie batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Delicious!
