World's Best Snickerdoodles Cookies

Snickerdoodles

1 Cup Unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large eggs
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

In medium bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt.  Cream together butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar, vanilla. Add eggs. Beat until well blended. Gradually add flour mixture. Shape dough into quarter size balls. In small bowl, mix 2 T sugar and cinnamon. Roll dough balls in sugar cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake in preheated 400 F oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
