Low Iron Blues
Low blood iron or anemia is a problem for a lot of women. Foods rich in iron includes liver (yuck), lean red meats, dark leafy greens, iron fortified cereals and breads. Did you know that adding Vitamin C to your daily regimen can help increase your iron level. Here's the breakdown. It takes @ least 6 months for your iron level in your blood to increase in lab value. Vitamin C binds to the iron and gets it into the blood stream quicker. So ladies, drink a glass of orange juice with your iron medicine. You may also need to greatly decrease your caffeine intake. Caffeine depletes your body of iron.
