MOLASSES GINGER COOKIE

There is nothing like the smell of molasses ginger cookies baking in the oven. If you like ginger bread, you are going to love these cookies. My neighbor rolled out the dough and used cookie cutters. She got her kiddos to help.


INGREDIENTS:

SIFT TOGETHER:
2 cups all purpose 
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon each Cinnamon, Ginger, Clove, baking soda

CREAM TOGETHER:

1 cup dark brown sugar (lightly packed)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup Crisco
1 large egg
1/4 cup molasses
1/8  teaspoon almond extract


SPOON flour mixture into cream mixture one spoon at a time.

COVER and let dough rest for 1 hour in refrigerator.

Form into dough balls.**

OPTIONAL: For a crunchy cookie, use 1/2  cup granulated sugar to roll cookie DOUGH balls right before placing on baking sheet.


PREHEAT OVEN 350 DEGREES F BAKE FOR  9 - 11 MINUTES* ENJOY!!!!

* Monitor closely since oven temperatures vary. ** Use ice cream scoop for uniformed sized cookies.
